IMPLANTS

Dental implants are a long-term solution to restoring missing teeth.

Dental implants are a type of dental restoration used to replace missing teeth. They are artificial tooth roots made of biocompatible materials such as titanium that are surgically placed into the jawbone. Once the implant is placed, it fuses with the surrounding bone tissue through a process called osseointegration, which provides a stable and durable foundation for a replacement tooth.

After the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, a connector called an abutment is attached to the top of the implant. This abutment serves as a base for a dental crown or bridge, which is custom-made to match the color and shape of the surrounding teeth. The crown or bridge is then attached to the abutment to complete the restoration.

Dental implants are considered a long-term solution for missing teeth and are known for their durability, functionality, and natural appearance. They can improve a patient's ability to eat and speak, prevent bone loss in the jaw, and help maintain the overall health of the mouth. However, not everyone is a candidate for dental implants, and a consultation with a dental professional is necessary to determine if implants are a suitable treatment option for you.
